For all the cat lovers out there…meet our cabin cats, Anna and Alexander. Here you’ll find some quirky and fun loving antics they are up to on daily basis.

Anna and Alexander are Ocicats, an all-domestic breed of cat which resembles a wild cat but has no wild DNA in its gene pool. The breed is unusual in that it is spotted like a wild cat but has the temperament of a domestic animal. The breed was established from the American Shorthair, Siamese, and Abyssinian.

Blog Note: Cats- New Gallery Section

Oh my goodness, it’s been so busy here. The rain storms have knocked the internet out a few times this week here in the mountains of South Carolina. In the meantime, I have been busy gathering images to share with everyone. Also, I am trying out a new plug-in on the blog site called Visual Portfolio for a photo gallery.

On occasion, I’ll be adding a few pictures of my Ocicats, Anna and Alexander under the ‘Cabin Cats’ section. Plus, other mountain and nature photos under the ‘Nature’ section. 

Creating and running a blog site takes a lot of work but is fun and rewarding. Plus, I love connecting with so many of you! 😊

I feel that sometimes pictures speak louder than words.

What I love about the Ocicats

My sweet girl, Anna loves to hide inside the cabinets in the morning. It’s has become one of her daily rituals. This breed has been known to have a playful side. Here is a youtube of Anna doing a quick silent roar.

Alexander is two months younger than Anna. Both were born in Georgia and are a couple of love birds. Whatever adventure they encounter…they need to be together. Watch him play ball here.

Here is what I love about Ocicats

  • They are pet friendly.
  • They are people friendly.
  • They are intelligent. Ocicats respond to their names and actually understand when their humans are chatting with them.
  • They have a sense of humor and do tricks. Some do play fetch. They are known for their dog-like behaviors.
  • They are gentle and loving.

They love to eat

  • Purina Fancy Feast Broth
  • Treats: Eden Bonito Flakes – (I got this tip from a professional cat behaviorist.) More about Bonito Flakes here. P.S. I love them too!
  • Plus, you can never go wrong with a little bit of can tuna.
