When you think of black bears, you may not consider that part of their daily routine is grazing! But, according to the National Park Service, black bears graze on a variety of grasses. Black bears also search for grubs and will use their claws to dig in the ground for these tasty treats. They also climb trees in their search for food. Read more here. They are excellent at identifying edible yummies and can smell food up to 20 miles away!

Bears can smell over 20 miles away for any delicious food or carcass on the side of the road. Our trail cams captured the black bears sniffing behind our home in the woods for anything yummy to eat.
